The system\u2019s 25-year expected lifetime was cut to down to less than 4 years, and makes you wonder if setting up such weather-vulnerable plants make any sense at all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Dreams vs reality<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis project will help the city achieve its goal to reduce our carbon footprint and stabilize city costs for the next 25 years,\u201d&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/nebraska.solar\/2019\/02\/new-community-solar-project-coming-to-scottsbluff\/\">said Nathan D. Johnson, City Manager, City of Scottsbluff<\/a>.&nbsp; \u201cThrough projects like this, we hope to offer an affordable \u2018green\u2019 option to our residents, both residential and commercial, to reap the benefits as well.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That was the dream.
