On Spring Street, in New York\u2019s Little Italy, sits Lombardi\u2019s, the mother of New York-style pizza.  Lombardi\u2019s coal-fired ovens have been turning out some of the world\u2019s most famous pizzas since 1905.  Lombardi\u2019s is believed to be America\u2019s first pizzeria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now NYC politicians are ordering all of their pizzerias with wood and coal burning ovens built before 2016 to install devices to capture 75% of their carbon emissions \u2014 threatening to put many of New York\u2019s favorite restaurants out of business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CFACT\u2019s Marc Morano perfectly summed up the absurdity in\u00a0The New York Post<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, writing, \u201cyou\u2019d have to burn a pizza stove 849 years to equal one year of John Kerry\u2019s private jet.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s right, pizza ovens comprise only a tiny proportion of America\u2019s carbon footprint.   Regulating them, or shutting them down completely, will have no meaningful impact on climate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CFACT tweeted<\/strong><\/a>, \u201cAnyone who thinks they can change the temperature of the Earth by regulating pizzerias has no clue. Have they even heard of China?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even CNN <\/em>admits<\/strong><\/a> that last year China approved the construction of new coal plants at the equivalent of two per week!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wired<\/strong><\/em><\/a> declared that China\u2019s is building an \u201cinsane\u201d number of new coal plants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Will New Yorkers stand idly by while woke politicians take down their favorite food, a world-famous cultural institution?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Staten Island artist Scott Lobaido fired the first doughy shot when he threw 48 slices of pizza over the City Hall fence.  \u201cGive me pizza or give me death!\u201d<\/strong>  The NY Post<\/em><\/a> quoted him shouting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs always, it\u2019s the average person who will have to suffer for the religion of the elites,\u201d  Morano\u2019s article concludes<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTo New York City bureaucrats, the message is simple: Lay off the restrictions on pizza<\/a>, gas stoves, appliances, gas-powered cars, and meat-eating in a silly effort to regulate the climate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This may sound cheesy, but the secret sauce in this battle to save New York\u2019s iconic pizza traditions is to deliver a loud and clear NO to the city bureaucrats.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
