And my personal experience, the Welsh feel a strong connection to their countryside, a tradition stretching back to before the Roman Empire. The hills, mountains and streams of Wales are part of the nation\u2019s soul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Blighting the countryside with large mechanical monstrosities probably won\u2019t help attract more visitors, nor will it bring peace to the troubled hearts of the Welsh people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/committees.parliament.uk\/publications\/39362\/documents\/193324\/default\/#:~:text=6.,operational%20between%201965%20and%201991.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Wales used to have two nuclear reactors<\/a>, which between them used to produce significant amounts of zero carbon electricity from a much smaller footprint than all the wind farms the government wants to build.
