The CAGW hypothesis is no such animal.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Known by its more contemporary aliases, such as \u201dclimate crisis,\u201d \u201cclimate emergency,\u201d \u201cclimate collapse,\u201d or \u201cexistential threat,\u201d the<strong>&nbsp;CAGW has zero empirical evidence<\/strong>&nbsp;to support it.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Unlike the related hypothesis regarding greenhouse gases (GHG) and global warming, at least the GHG hypothesis has&nbsp;<strong>warming global temperature data that somewhat coincides with increasing atmospheric CO2 levels,<\/strong>&nbsp;putting aside the growing possibility that the<strong>&nbsp;purported cause-and-effect direction is probably the reverse.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/em>[Note:&nbsp; See&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/rclutz.com\/2023\/01\/05\/temps-cause-co2-changes-not-the-reverse-2023-update\/\"><strong>Temps Cause CO2 Changes, Not the Reverse. 2023 Update<\/strong><\/a>]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>In order to reach a&nbsp;<strong>CAGW climate disaster<\/strong>, global warming&nbsp;<strong>temperatures must change rapidly in an accelerating manner<\/strong>&nbsp;that will initiate a \u2018tipping point\u2019 for the climate.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>The rapid acceleration would present its occurrence in\u00a0<strong>a continuous increasing of the slope<\/strong>, i.e., trend, of temperatures, such as monthly temperatures. Which is confirmed by the paltry R^2 of +0.06 \u2013&nbsp;<strong>an almost non-existent relationship between 5-year atmospheric CO2 changes and 5-year changes in ocean temperature.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Not only are the<strong>&nbsp;large increases in CO2 levels not causing a concerning uptick<\/strong>&nbsp;of temperature change magnitude, it&nbsp;<strong>also<\/strong>&nbsp;has&nbsp;<strong>not<\/strong>&nbsp;lead to&nbsp;<strong>any type of acceleration<\/strong>, per the linear trend since 1963.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Specifically, with a trend of a tiny +0.0001\u00b0C, that would project out 20 years to be an increase of 5-year temperature changes to an insignificant amount of +0.024 \u2013&nbsp;<strong>definitely not an existential threat of \u2018runaway warming\u2019 or a CAGW \u2018climate crisis\u2019<\/strong>&nbsp;as portrayed by bureaucrats, politicians and Hollywood celebrities.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>So, if 5 years of increasing amounts of CO2 in the atmosphere barely influence 5-year changes in temperature over a 60-year span, either in magnitude or acceleration rate, then it is highly unlikely that this trace gas would cause a catastrophic climate disaster or an extinction event.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-attachment-id=\"257892\" data-permalink=\"https:\/\/climatescience.press\/?attachment_id=257892\" data-orig-file=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/climatescience.press\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/image-265.png?fit=237%2C283&amp;ssl=1\" data-orig-size=\"237,283\" data-comments-opened=\"1\" data-image-meta=\"{&quot;aperture&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;credit&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;camera&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;caption&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;created_timestamp&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;copyright&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;focal_length&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;iso&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;shutter_speed&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;title&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;orientation&quot;:&quot;0&quot;}\" data-image-title=\"image-265\" data-image-description=\"\" data-image-caption=\"\" data-large-file=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/climatescience.press\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/image-265.png?fit=237%2C283&amp;ssl=1\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/climatescience.press\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/image-265.png?resize=368%2C439&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-257892\" width=\"368\" height=\"439\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Thus, it is fair to state that for all those&nbsp;<strong>scientists pushing a narrative of an imminent climate change catastrophe<\/strong>&nbsp;from CO2 without the requisite empirical evidence, this has become<strong>&nbsp;the real climate science crisis facing society.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>Notes: Temperature and CO2 data sources.Excel used<\/strong>\u00a0to calculate 60-mth (5-yr) temperature and CO2 changes;
