The Biden administration\u2019s \u201cclimate envoy,\u201d former senator and failed presidential candidate John Kerry, said on Wednesday that China invited him to visit \u201cin the near term\u201d for talks on climate change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kerry said<\/a> President Joe Biden has given his blessings to the proposed meeting, but some details need to be worked out \u2014 chief among them the uncomfortable fact that China is the world\u2019s worst polluter<\/a> by a wide margin, and its use of carbon-based fuels is increasing<\/a> even as the climate movement pushes fantastically expensive and inefficient \u201cgreen energy\u201d on the free world. [emphasis, links added]<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis has to be cooperative, notwithstanding other differences that do exist. This is not a bilateral issue. This is a universal global threat to everybody in every nation,\u201d Kerry insisted<\/a> on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe two biggest economies, biggest contributors to that problem need to be able to come together and work to try to help resolve it<\/a>,\u201d Kerry said, continuing:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

China has invited me to visit in the near term to be able to meet with him [Chinese climate envoy Xie Zhenhua] to be able to work on work that we\u2019ve been doing for several years, which is trying to find the pathway forward to be able to cooperate in ways that are beneficial to the world. And hopefully, we\u2019ll be able to do that.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Kerry once again illustrated why he is Communist China\u2019s favorite American houseguest<\/strong> by refusing to criticize<\/strong> China\u2019s titanic expansion of coal burning<\/strong> and its ongoing pollution<\/strong>, instead mumbling that he thinks Beijing has embraced<\/a> the \u201cterminology\u201d of the Paris Climate Accord<\/a> but has not \u201cfully embraced\u201d actually reducing its emissions.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kerry then said it might not matter anyway\u00a0since the world is \u201con the borderline right now\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0and might have already\u00a0\u201cblown past\u201d the predictions of climate apocalypse<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0\u2014 or maybe not, since yet-undiscovered \u201ctechnologies and other capacities we have to deploy clean energy\u201d could\u00a0turn back the doomsday clock.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

None of this confused rhetoric does anything to dispel the impression that China loves to talk about climate change<\/strong> but has no intention of compromising its own energy production<\/a> or industrial goals and in fact, seems to envision a world<\/strong> in which it utterly dominates heavy industry<\/strong> while the West cripples itself<\/a> in the name of global warming<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even environmentalist organizations like Greenpeace, which usually refrain from criticizing China, have begun noticing<\/a> the wide gap between Beijing\u2019s rhetoric and its actions.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kerry himself occasionally admits<\/a> that China keeps none of its climate promises<\/a><\/strong> and sees the issue as a far lower priority<\/strong> than winning its contest for economic and political influence with the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every few months, Kerry suggests<\/a> China should pay climate reparations<\/a><\/strong> to poor countries allegedly suffering from global warming<\/strong><\/a>, and the Chinese resolutely ignore<\/a> him.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, critics note that John Kerry has a prodigious \u201ccarbon footprint\u201d<\/a><\/strong> and shows little inclination to compromise<\/a> his jet-setting lifestyle<\/strong> to reduce it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kerry has pumped<\/a> hundreds of tons of carbon<\/strong>, which he claims is a major pollutant, into the atmosphere while flying to climate conferences<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His family sheepishly sold<\/a> its private jet<\/strong> to a New York hedge fund in February after criticism of his climate hypocrisy<\/a> reached a fever pitch<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
