Communist Chinese government-tied TikTok is looking to censor content questioning \u201cclimate change\u201d narratives, even though China is considered the biggest polluter, and least \u201cgreen,\u201d nation in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A TikTok press release<\/a> about Earth Day 2023 claimed, \u201cOn April 21, we will begin to ramp up enforcement of a new climate change misinformation policy which removes climate change misinformation that undermines well-established scientific consensus, such as content denying the existence of climate change or the factors that contribute to it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Forget the fact that China just reportedly increased<\/a> its pollution and that climate experts have been consistently<\/a> wrong<\/a> for 50 years<\/a>. TikTok doesn\u2019t seem to care that its new censorship of free speech is completely hypocritical.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why? \u201cSeems like TikTok just found religion, the kind of religion the left has been pushing,\u201d said MRC Free Speech America & MRC Business Vice President\u00a0Dan Schneider<\/a>. \u201cThis reflects a brazen attempt to keep Senate Democrats firmly in TikTok\u2019s hip pocket. The Biden administration is not going to ban its most powerful campaign tool, and so long as Chuck Schumer continues to bottle up legislative efforts to remove this communist Trojan horse, TikTok will continue to hoover up our private data at alarming rates.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TikTok self-righteously declared, \u201cAs we do for all misinformation policies, we will work with independent fact-checking partners when applying this policy to help assess the accuracy of content.\u201d TikTok regularly censors free speech on its platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An August 2022 MRC Free Speech America study found<\/a> that TikTok had \u201cpermanently banned\u201d 11 pro-free speech organizations. These included satire accounts, various pro-free speech groups and commentators, pro-life groups and even the MRC\u2019s own MRCTV account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chinese-owned TikTok\u2019s censorship is ridiculous in light of China\u2019s (lack of) environmental standards. China, by far the\u00a0world\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0biggest polluter<\/a>, recently\u00a0sped up<\/a>\u00a0its construction of coal mines and its approval of new coal mines. Very \u201cgreen,\u201d right? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not only that, the former Chinese residents hosting\u00a0The China Show\u00a0<\/em>claimed<\/a>\u00a0that Chinese companies routinely do things that run afoul of the left\u2019s dogmatic stances on climate change, like burning \u201crecyclables,\u201d including potentially hazardous electronics, on a large scale\u00a0inside of<\/em>\u00a0buildings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CCP furthermore takes on loads of waste, including plastics, from other countries. China then dumps that waste in the ocean. In other words, TikTok is completely hypocritical for allowing only woke views on supposed \u201cclimate change.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chinese Communist Party owns a\u00a0board seat<\/a>\u00a0and maintains a\u00a0financial stake<\/a>\u00a0in TikTok\u2019s parent company ByteDance.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
