You said three years ago you believed that this virus was intentionally released by the government you once worked for, the government of China.&nbsp; Today we\u2019re hearing in the Wall Street Journal that it was accidental. Do you believe this leak was accidental or intentional?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>LMY:<\/strong>&nbsp;Hi Tucker thank you for having me again. First I really appreciate you and also Fox News have been taking so much effort pursuing the truths of Covid origin. Without your help, there wouldn\u2019t be such milestone achievements. And I want to say, of course it was not an accident. And maybe for people who don\u2019t have this kind of biosafety labs, this kind of experience on coronavirus, maybe it\u2019s easy for them to accept the accidental lab leak idea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However I\u2019m the scientist working in such lab using coronavirus, and I can tell you based on the print protocol and also the other surveillance, it will be impossible for the lab leak to accidentally happen in such a lab. I would say based on the evidence and the sources I have, that the virus was intentionally brought out of this strict lab and released into the community. However I don\u2019t think the outbreak in Wuhan was intentional. I would say it was because CCP government and Military scientists underestimated the transmissibility. That\u2019s why finally it got out of control and caused the local outbreak. Recently, a team from the World Health Organization, which is investigating the origins of SARS-CoV-2, said that it agrees with this hypothesis \u2014<strong>&nbsp;WHO officials said the virus likely passed from bats to animals on wildlife farms in China, and then to humans, Live Science previously reported.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>Redfield said he didn\u2019t believe the bat theory<\/strong>. \u201cNormally, when a pathogen goes from a zoonosis to humans,<strong>&nbsp;it takes a while for it to figure out how to become more and more efficien<\/strong>t in human-to-human transmission,\u201d Redfield told CNN. \u201cI just&nbsp;<strong>don\u2019t think this makes biological sense<\/strong>.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>The former CDC chief wasn\u2019t suggesting SARS-CoV-2 is&nbsp;<strong>an engineered virus \u2014 another theory with no supporting evidence \u2014 just a natural escapee<\/strong>. \u201cIn the lab, you think that that process of becoming more efficient was happening?\u201d Gupta asked.<\/em>&nbsp;[Note:&nbsp; There is significant evidence of an engineered virus documented in the discussion below.]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cYeah, let\u2019s just say I have coronavirus that I\u2019m working on. She wrote that she believed COVID-19 could have been \u201cconveniently created\u201d within a lab setting over a period of just six months, and \u201cSARS-CoV-2 shows biological characteristics that are inconsistent with a naturally occurring, zoonotic virus\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The paper by Yan, Li-Meng; Kang, Shu; Guan, Jie; Hu, Shanchang&nbsp; is&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/zenodo.org\/record\/4028830#.X2S253lKjIX\"><strong>Unusual Features of the SARS-CoV-2 Genome Suggesting Sophisticated Laboratory Modification Rather Than Natural Evolution and Delineation of Its Probable Synthetic Route.&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/a>Excerpts in italics with my bolds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>The natural origin theory, although widely accepted, lacks substantial support. The alternative theory that the virus may have come from a research laboratory is, however, strictly censored on peer-reviewed scientific journals. Nonetheless,&nbsp;<strong>SARS-CoV-2 shows biological characteristics that are inconsistent with a naturally occurring, zoonotic virus.<\/strong>&nbsp;In this report, we describe the&nbsp;<strong>genomic, structural, medical, and literature evidence,<\/strong>&nbsp;which, when considered together, strongly&nbsp;<strong>contradicts the natural origin theory.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>The evidence shows that SARS-CoV-2 should be a laboratory product created by using bat coronaviruses ZC45 and\/or ZXC21 as a template and\/or backbone.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>Contents<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Consistent with this notion, genomic, structural, and literature evidence also suggest a non-natural origin of SARS-CoV-2. In addition, abundant literature indicates that&nbsp;<strong>gain-of-function research<\/strong>&nbsp;has long advanced to the stage where&nbsp;<strong>viral genomes can be precisely engineered<\/strong>&nbsp;and manipulated to enable the creation of&nbsp;<strong>novel coronaviruses possessing unique properties.<\/strong>&nbsp;In this report, we present such evidence and the associated analyses.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>Part 1 of the report describes the genomic and structural features of SARS-CoV-2,<\/strong>&nbsp;the presence of which could be consistent with the theory that the virus is a product of laboratory modification beyond what could be afforded by simple serial viral passage.&nbsp;<strong>Part 2 of the report describes a highly probable pathway<\/strong>&nbsp;for the laboratory creation of SARS-CoV-2, key steps of which are supported by evidence present in the viral genome. Importantly, part 2 should be viewed as a demonstration of how SARS-CoV-2 could be conveniently created in a laboratory in a short period of time using available materials and well-documented techniques. This&nbsp;<strong>report is produced by a team of experienced scientists<\/strong>&nbsp;using our combined expertise in virology, molecular biology, structural biology, computational biology, vaccine development, and medicine.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>We present&nbsp;<strong>three lines of evidence<\/strong>&nbsp;to support our contention that laboratory manipulation is part of the history of SARS-CoV-2:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>i. The genomic sequence of SARS-CoV-2 is suspiciously<strong>&nbsp;similar to that of a bat coronavirus discovered by military laboratories<\/strong>&nbsp;in the Third Military Medical University (Chongqing, China) and the Research Institute for Medicine of Nanjing Command (Nanjing, China).<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>ii. The receptor-binding motif (RBM) within the Spike protein of SARS-CoV-2, which determines the host specificity of the virus,<strong>&nbsp;resembles that of SARS-CoV from the 2003 epidemic<\/strong>&nbsp;in a suspicious manner. Genomic evidence suggests that the RBM has been genetically manipulated.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>iii. SARS-CoV-2 contains a&nbsp;<strong>unique furin-cleavage site<\/strong>&nbsp;in its Spike protein, which is known to greatly enhance viral infectivity and cell tropism. Yet, this cleavage site is&nbsp;<strong>completely absent in this particular class of coronaviruses found in nature<\/strong>. Chinese researchers are said to have used coronaviruses in their work to develop an AIDS vaccine.<strong>&nbsp;HIV RNA fragments<\/strong>&nbsp;are believed to have been found in the SARS-CoV-2 genome.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cWith my colleague, bio-mathematician Jean-Claude Perez, we carefully analyzed the description of the genome of this RNA virus,\u201d explains Luc Montagnier, interviewed by Dr Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Lemoine for the daily podcast at Pourquoi Docteur, adding that&nbsp;<strong>others have already explored this avenue: Indian researchers have already tried to publish the results<\/strong>&nbsp;of the analyses that showed that this coronavirus genome contained sequences of another virus, \u2026 the HIV virus (AIDS virus), but they were&nbsp;<strong>forced to withdraw their findings as the pressure from the mainstream was too great.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>To insert an HIV sequence into this genome requires molecular tools<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>In a challenging question Dr Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Lemoine inferred that the coronavirus under investigation may have come from a patient who is otherwise infected with HIV. No, \u201csays Luc Montagnier,\u201d in order to insert an HIV sequence into this genome, molecular tools are needed, and that<strong>&nbsp;can only be done in a laboratory.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>According to the 2008 Nobel Prize for Medicine,&nbsp;<strong>a plausible explanation would be an accident in the Wuhan laboratory.<\/strong>&nbsp;He also added that the purpose of this work was the search for an AIDS vaccine.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>In any case, this thesis, defended by Professor Luc Montagnier, has a positive turn.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>According to him,&nbsp;<strong>the altered elements of this virus are eliminated as it spreads<\/strong>: \u201cNature does not accept any molecular tinkering, it will eliminate these unnatural changes and even if nothing is done,<strong>&nbsp;things will get better, but unfortunately after many deaths.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>This is enough to feed some heated debates! So much so that Professor Montagnier\u2019s statements could also place him in the category of \u201cconspiracy theorists\u201d: \u201c<strong>Conspirators are the opposite camp, hiding the truth,\u201d he replies<\/strong>, without wanting to accuse anyone, but hoping that the Chinese will admit to what he believes happened in their laboratory.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>To entice a confession from the Chinese he used the example of Iran which after taking full responsibility for accidentally hitting a Ukrainian plane was able to earn the respect of the global community. Hopefully the Chinese will do the right thing he adds. \u201cIn any case, the truth always comes out,&nbsp;<strong>it is up to the Chinese government to take responsibility.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Implications:<\/strong>&nbsp;Leaving aside the geopolitics, this theory also explains why the virus weakens when mutations lose the unnatural pieces added in the lab. Since this is an RNA (not DNA) sequence mutations are slower, but inevitable. If correct, this theory works against fears of a second wave of infections. It also gives an unintended benefit from past lockdowns and shutdowns, slowing the rate of infections while the virus degrades itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full
