Meet climate hypocrites Luisa S. and Yannick S. here<\/a>!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019ve all heard about the \u201cLast Generation\u201d: young, mostly spoiled upper middle class, privileged. They glue themselves to streets and block commuters from going to work in order to protest the burning of \u201cclimate-changing\u201d fossil fuels. They demand people wean themselves off driving, flying, heating and eating meat. One tonne of CO2 emissions per person or even less each year is plenty, they insist. In fact, people need to start being confined in 15-minute cities!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But now it\u2019s wintertime, and so gluing oneself to the street in freezing weather is just such a drag \u2013 and so is going to class or getting a real job. So what\u2019s a spoiled climate cultist to do?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019re a member of \u201cLetzte Generation\u201d (Last Generation) like Germans Luisa S. and Yannick S,,<\/strong> who blocked a federal highway near Stuttgart with other activists last September, you book a long-haul flight to Thailand for a long vacation \u2013 until late spring!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Previously, Germany\u2019s national daily Bild had inaccurately reported<\/a> that the two climate kiddies had flown to Bali, and so at Twitter Germany\u2019s Last Generation<\/a> defended the two jet-setting activists, accusing Bild<\/em> of spreading misinformation: the truth is that they had flown to Thailand. So there!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the 12 part-thread<\/a>, Last Generation<\/em> went on to dismiss all double standard accusations with a defiant attitude. You see, climate protesters get a pass and jet-setting is the just reward for the hard work of being glued to a street when the weather is warm. They\u2019re special.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Excuse: not possible to go by land!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luisa S. and Yannick S,, went on to defend their flight to Thailand, claiming: \u201cConflicts had prevented them from completing the journey \u201cacross the Silk Road by train and bus.\u201d According to Bild<\/a>, the two told the German taz daily that the only option was to fly to Asia because of \u201cthe Russian war of aggression, the Syrian civil war, the Turkish invaders in northern Iraq, the Taliban\u2019s seizure of power, the tensions in the Kashmir region and the military coup in Myanmar, to name just a few on the route to Southeast Asia.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bild commented on the spectacular excuse: \u201cA cynical instrumentalization of suffering in the world as an absurd justification for one\u2019s own vacation flight!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Psychology of hypocrisy<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2 street-blocking climate puppies added: \u201cWe are for pretty much exactly four months in Southeast Asia, just in Thailand\u201d and noted it had been \u201ca long-standing dream of Luisa\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Bild<\/a>, the couple claim they had not been sure whether they could \u201creconcile it\u201d with their \u201cconscience to get on a plane\u201d. In the end, after a long mental struggle, they said they ultimately made the choice to make the trip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
