[emphasis, links added]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Tuesday, Kentucky State Treasurer Allison Ball named&nbsp;<strong>11 such financial companies currently boycotting energy companies<\/strong>, following the passage of a 2022 law that directed Ball\u2019s office to&nbsp;<strong>publish a list of companies actively&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/climatechangedispatch.com\/bans-on-fossil-fuel-funding-threatening-africas-future\/\">engaged in energy boycotts<\/a><\/strong>, which then puts said&nbsp;<strong>companies on a path toward divestment by the Commonwealth.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The&nbsp;<strong>updated&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/treasury.ky.gov\/ESG\/Pages\/List.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">list<\/a>&nbsp;of companies engaged in energy boycotts<\/strong>&nbsp;was based on a \u201ccareful review of publicly available statements and commitments made by the companies\u201d and includes the following entities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>BlackRock, Inc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>BNP Paribas SA<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Citigroup Inc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Climate First Bank<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dankse Bank A\/S<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>HSBC PLC<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>JPMorgan Chase &amp; Co.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nordea Bank ABP<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Schroders PLC<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Svenska Handelsbanken AB<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Swedbank AB.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So far at least the companies affected appear to be shrugging off these state legislature boycotts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But upsetting regulators is never a good thing if you are a bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If banks ignore these warning signals, and continue upsetting GOP legislators with their anti-fossil fuel discrimination, next time they ask for a GFC financial bailout, say if&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.news.com.au\/finance\/markets\/world-markets\/situation-in-china-set-to-lead-world-into-global-economic-crisis\/news-story\/cb1eafa9d9e6b204f03fc867609ce2eb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the Chinese economy implodes<\/a>&nbsp;and drags&nbsp;<a
