As documented at\u00a0Climate Realism<\/em>, throughout 2022 mainstream media outlets claimed climate change was the cause of myriad, disparate extreme weather events that occurred throughout the year. From\u00a0extreme winter weather<\/a>, to\u00a0hurricanes<\/a>, to\u00a0wildfires<\/a>, to\u00a0flooding<\/a>, to\u00a0drought<\/a>, and beyond, the media asserted particular instances of extreme weather were indicative of worsening trends driven by climate change. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is false. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In fact, data from the\u00a0State Climate Extreme Committee<\/a>\u00a0(SCEC) at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration show that not a single record was set for high or low temperature, rainfall, snowfall, or hail in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, the SCEC\u2019s data show that nearly double the number state high temperature records were set or tied between 1900 and 1940 than were set or tied from 1980 to 2022, the recent period of modest warming. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indeed, four times more state high temperature records were set or tied in the single decade spanning 1930 to 1939 (25), nearly 100 years of climate change ago, than were set or tied between 2000 and 2022 (six), which environmentalists have claimed are the warmest decades on record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Concerning extreme precipitation, more state records were set for rainfall within a 24-hour period between 1950 and 1970, when the earth was cooling and many scientists were warning of a return of the ice age, than between 2000 and 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Any way you measure it, 2022 was not a record setting year for extreme weather. Data produced by the climate woke Biden administration says so. That\u2019s the truth the mainstream media can\u2019t handle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
