Hubris and arrogance are essential character traits for those pretending that we\u2019re well on our way to an all-wind and sun-powered future. Helpfully, the terrible events unfolding in Ukraine have exposed that whopping lie, for all to see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Energy self-reliance is back on the agenda, with a vengeance, and that means fossil fuels and nuclear power are back in vogue, like long-lost relatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But, not for want of trying, the Democrats and their senile leader would have Americans believe that all is well with their Great Green Reset aka the Green New Deal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Law of Supply and Demand is as consistent as gravity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Americans who understand the benefits of ample supply \u2014 seventy percent \u2014 favor producing more domestic oil and gas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nonetheless, President(ish) Joe Biden, his administration and congressional Democrats think voters will 1) buy their fraudulent excuses for the soaring costs of fossil fuels, and 2) overlook the shortcomings of the alt-energy schemes they imagine will provide \u201cenergy independence.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, energy prices are wrecking America\u2019s economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Characteristically, Joe \u201cThe Buck (Never) Stops Here\u201d Biden blames others, including Russia\/Ukraine: \u201cPutin\u2019s war is already hurting American families at the gas pump \u2026 I\u2019m going to do everything I can to minimize Putin\u2019s price hike here at home.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Biden also claimed, falsely, \u201cIt\u2019s simply not true that my administration or policies are holding back domestic energy production,\u201d before blaming energy companies:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTo the oil and gas companies \u2026 we understand Putin\u2019s war against the people of Ukraine is causing prices to rise. \u2026 But it\u2019s no excuse to exercise excessive price increases or padding profits \u2026 to exploit this situation or American consumers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Biden\u2019s finger-pointing is shamelessly dishonest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Energy prices took off more than a year before Russia invaded Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the 2020 primary, candidate Biden promised, \u201cNo more drilling\u2026 No ability for the oil industry to continue to drill, period. It ends.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Biden voters approved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, on his first day in office, Biden signed executive orders limiting fossil fuel exploration, canceling leases on federal land, killing the Keystone XL pipeline, and began pressuring lenders to restrict financing for exploration and production of fossil fuels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Energy prices climbed immediately, and, today, are more than two times higher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Abnormally-high energy prices are intentional, a result of artificial scarcity and market manipulation that are parts of a broader left-liberal war on conventional energy being waged to fundamentally transform Western society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Russia\u2019s invasion of Ukraine did increase prices somewhat, but Joe Biden\u2019s executive orders and his fealty to fellow Democrats\u2019 \u201cGreen New Deal\u201d had already made it far costlier to feed families, heat\/cool homes, drive vehicles, run businesses, and live normal lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The president appears unconcerned about the impact his policies have on households, and his assumption that ordinary Americans are stupid enough to take his deceitful excuses at face value and give him a pass only adds insult to injury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking of insults, part-time Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg condescendingly instructed Americans upset by record gasoline prices to buy electric vehicles (EVs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Problem solved, right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, average EV pricing \u2014 after generous government subsidies \u2014 is $56,437.00. The average 2022 income for full-time workers is estimated at $53,490.00.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the estimated cost breakeven point for EVs over gasoline-powered vehicles is fifteen years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Worse, Biden\u2019s\/fellow Democrat\u2019s desire to use wind and solar power to supply America\u2019s total energy needs is na\u00efve \u2014 and dangerous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apart from being intermittent, inherently unreliable and grossly expensive, solar panels and wind turbines require tremendous amounts of copper, nickel, cobalt, rare earth and other minerals, including lithium for storage batteries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The International Energy Agency reports that, with the exception of lithium (Australia), China enjoys substantial leads in deposits of and extracting those elements \u2014 and China dominates the processing of all of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

China controls over 70 percent of the world\u2019s solar panel market. Seven of the 10 largest wind turbine manufacturers are Chinese, and China controls 60 percent of global wind turbine production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If solar panels and wind turbines performed adequately, China wouldn\u2019t be building dozens of new coal-fired generation plants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even if relying on wind turbines and solar panels were feasible, doing so would effectively turn America\u2019s energy sector \u2014 our economy \u2014 over to a dangerous geopolitical rival, and make the U.S. almost totally dependent on the Chinese Communist Party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a sane world, everyone could agree on nuclear power \u2014 a la France and Finland \u2014 as a far cheaper, more practical energy source. But America\u2019s national suicide climate cultists reject zero-emission nuclear power, too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

America was the world\u2019s largest oil producer before Joe Biden took office. The U.S. and Canada have tens of billions of barrels\/cubic feet of accessible fossil fuels \u2014 centuries of supply \u2014 underground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Remember, seventy percent of Americans want to extract and use ours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their callous disregard for ordinary Americans is another reason Joe Biden and the Democrats who support his energy policies will reap the whirlwind in November.
