An unusually cold storm system will move into the Pacific Northwest this week, driving temperatures down some 6C-16C below the seasonal average, and bringing a substantial dusting of summer snow to the mountains.<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The latest GFS runs (below) show a mass of Arctic air sinking down from Alaska and Canada, starting today.

This is something of \u2018summer spanner\u2019 in the AGW works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The MSM has been milking the Pacific Northwest\u2019s heat for all it\u2019s worth in recent weeks. But now, we get to sit back and enjoy them squirm <\/em>and obfuscate <\/em>their way through a record-breaking bout of August cold.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Supporting this looming fall-like cool-down is NOAA\u2019s latest 6-10 Day Temperature Outlook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The outlook, released Sunday from the agency\u2019s Climate Prediction Center, confirms that \u201ccolder than normal\u201d conditions will impact a large part of the northern Rockies, including Colorado and Utah. Some places in Montana are expected to see highs only in the 40s over the next few days, with lows in the 30s \u2014 such readings would threaten all-time August lows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And you best take heed when the likes of NOAA are telling you it\u2019s going to get cold. The agency has a provable warm-bias. We all recall their\u00a0swing and a miss<\/em>\u00a0for February, 2021: \u201cA warmer than average month,\u201d was the agency\u2019s official prediction; but in reality, North America suffered its coldest February since the 1980s which in turn led to the deaths of\u00a0702 people in Texas<\/a>\u00a0alone\u2013many of them likely unprepared due to the false, warm-mongering forecast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
